Commvault 還原 ESXI 虛擬機失敗 錯誤碼91:35 找不到新建立的虛擬機

 為了做一些測試，把一台ASUS的工作站裝了ESXI 6.7後，然後將Commvault備份的虛擬機要還原到這台工作站上，還原過程都正常，等資料全部都還原的差不多，到最後卻都會錯誤，錯誤碼是91:35 找不到新建立的虛擬機，還有VM was not found。

試了兩三次都這樣，後來就把工作站改裝ESXI 6.5試試，也一樣。

這時後開始懷疑是不是備份有問題，所以直接還原在原本的ESXI伺服器上，卻都沒問題。

最後就把工作站再降級裝ESXI 6.0，就還原成功了，搞死人了。

後來有發現另一個更簡單的方式，就是如果還原失敗，先把commvault的服務重開，重開完再還原一次，也可以解決。

網站上根本查不到這種錯誤的相關訊息，還好自己有找出原因。

Commvault 服務重啟

 Commvault服務如果要重啟，就先找到Commvault Process Manager。

裡面有一個服務的頁籤，最下面有三個鈕，可以做Commvault服務的啟用/關閉/重啟。

在重啟的過程，會看到相關服務慢慢一個一個變成關閉的圖示，要等一下。

To restart the Commvault service, follow these steps:

Locate the Commvault Process Manager. This can usually be found in the Commvault software interface.

Within the Commvault Process Manager, navigate to the "Services" tab.

At the bottom of the tab, you will find three buttons that allow you to enable, disable, or restart the Commvault services.

Click on the "Restart" button to initiate the restart process.

During the restart process, you will observe the related services gradually transitioning to a closed icon. It may take some time for all services to close before the restart is complete.

commvault 還原檔案失敗 "23:10 Error while reading pipeline buffer from MediaAgent"

 在用commvault還原虛擬機內的檔案時，只還原小量的檔案都正常，但要還原比較大的資料夾，裡面檔案較多的話，就會失敗，出現 "23:10  Error while reading pipeline buffer from MediaAgent"

跟上一篇說的一樣，就先把commvault服務重啟在試一次，有時後就沒問題了，不然就只能小量小量的還原了。

commvault 還原失敗 無法顯示虛擬機磁碟內的檔案 0x80070306 failed to enumerate items

 用commvault備份虛擬機時，是可以直接還原虛擬機內的檔案，像是還原裡面的word，excel，pdf之類的。

在還原的設定中，要先把虛擬機磁碟的內容展開，顯示裡面的檔案，才能勾選做還原，但在展開時失敗了，出現" 0x80070306 failed to enumerate items"，看不到裡面有什麼檔案。

這時後只要把commvault的服務重啟就好了。

commvault 備份虛擬機出現錯誤 Unable to quiesce guest file system during snapshot creation

 用commvault在備份一台新建esxi上的虛擬機，都會出現"Unable to quiesce guest file system during snapshot creation"，原因就是該台虛擬機沒裝vmtool的關係，把vmtool裝上去就不會再出現這個錯誤了。

commvault 備份免費版的vmware 虛擬機~失敗

廠商有說免費版的vmware虛擬機是無法備份的，但還是想試試看。

結果在設定時，都沒問題，以為是廠商搞錯了，結果備份執行時，一開始也正常，但沒多久就跳錯誤訊息了，果然只能備份付費版的。

 描述： Unable to create a virtual machine snapshot of [vm001]. [Current license or ESXi version prohibits execution of the requested operation. Snapshot creation attempt took [00:00:01]] Please check the virtual machine snapshot tree.

netapp 檔案備份容量超過在系統佔用的空間

 在netapp上有切一區來做共用檔案存放，在系統上用，已佔用了2TB。

但在用備份軟體備份時，備份的檔案容量卻顯示有3TB的容量，怎麼會多了1TB。

原來是因為netapp上有開啟了dedup的功能，所以在netapp上實際佔用的容量，會比所有檔案的原始大小還少。

但備份程式在做的時後，是備份這些共用檔案原始的大小，所以才會有這些差異。

commvault虛擬機備份失敗" Insufficient free space available to create a snapshot of virtual machine "

 如果用commvault在備份虛擬機出現"Insufficient free space available to create a snapshot of virtual machine "的失敗錯誤訊息，是因為備份工作裡，有一個設定是檢查虛擬機所在的存放區的可用空間，低於所設定的比例就會失敗，這是可以調整的，就在備份工作的內容裡面，如果存放區夠大的話，可以把比例調低一點，預設是低於10%就不能備份。

commvault 重新備份失敗的部份

 用commvault備份時，如果是一個工作裡面包了許多台主機要備份，可能會有只有其中某一台備份失敗，其他成功的狀況。

這時可以整個工作重跑，其他成功的部份也再備份一次，也可以針對失敗的部份重跑就好，操作如下圖。

就是在該工作選擇備份，然後在進階裡選擇只備份失敗的就行了。

Commvault alert "System has reached within 80 percent limit of [Protected Virtual Machines] usage"

Commvault主機上突然收到一個警告，內容是"System has reached within 80 percent limit of [Protected Virtual Machines] usage."

查了一下，原來是系統內本來就有設定授權使用達80%就會發出警告，授權使用多少，可以在"Licensing and Registration"裡面看。

COMMVAULT刪除用戶端電腦

COMMVAULT裡有一些主機已經不需要備份或還原了，想要把他移除。
但是直接在該台電腦按右鍵，是不會有移除或刪除的選項，沒辦法直接刪掉。
必須先做釋放授權的動作，才會出現刪除的選項可選。

就是把這授權新增到右邊的釋放清單中就行了。

有授權跟沒授權的顏色也會不同，灰色的就是可以刪了。

COMMVAULT 警示訊息 發送間隔

使用COMMVAULT 備份時，若備份工作卡住，都會發送警告訊息的郵件，但警告訊息發送的頻率有點高，有時後是假日發生，但上班日時，警告訊息會有好幾十封，這個是可以調整的。
預設是1小時發送一次，可以把間隔調長一點。

Commvault 還原 ESXI虛擬機失敗 [Current license or ESXi version prohibits execution of the requested operation.]

最近在Commvault上要測試，把ESXI上備份的虛擬機，還原到其他台ESXI，看看還原出來的虛擬機會不會有問題。
所以就先去下找同版本的ESXI，裝在一台閒置的伺服器上，剛裝好，可以有60天的評估試用期，還原的時後都ok。
後來在還原其他台虛擬機時，出現了[Current license or ESXi version prohibits execution of the requested operation.]的錯誤，很奇怪。
後來才發現，因為自己把免費版的序號輸入後，將ESXI從試用版轉換成免費版的授權，所以就會還原失敗，這失敗的訊息應該是來自VMWARE，不是Commvault的問題，後來就把ESXI重裝，繼續採用試用版授權，就可以還原了。
