DELL idrac 擴充硬碟設定

 

  環境:

Dell server idrc

raid 5

設定過程:

為了增加容量，新增了硬碟。

插入硬碟後，在idrac內，要去"維護"--> "作業隊列"裡面，會出現待執行的工作，就可以看到插入的硬碟，要做何種設定，這邊就可以選擇要擴充到原本的raid中，設定好，這個作業不到幾分鐘就會完成了。。

完成後，在到"儲存"-->"虛擬硬碟"，這邊就可以看到目前的擴充進度。

Environment:

Dell Server
iDRAC
RAID 5

Procedure: Expanding a RAID 5 Virtual Disk

To increase the storage capacity of an existing RAID 5 array, install the new hard drive into the server.

After the drive is installed:

1. In iDRAC, go to Maintenance → Job Queue.
2. A pending job for the newly inserted drive will appear.
3. Select the appropriate operation to expand the existing RAID 5 virtual disk.
4. Apply the configuration.

The configuration job itself typically completes within a few minutes.

Monitoring the Expansion Progress:

After the job has been applied:

1. Go to Storage → Virtual Disks.
2. Select the RAID virtual disk.

You can monitor the RAID expansion (reconfiguration) progress from this page until the operation is complete.

Note: Although the configuration job completes quickly, the actual RAID expansion and background initialization may take several hours depending on the RAID controller, disk capacity, and system workload. During this time, the virtual disk remains available, but performance may be reduced until the expansion is finished.
